He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Schmidt and Blanch Anderson Schmidt; and his brother-in-law Charles Claxton. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Schmidt; his children, Candice Ray (Justin) and Chauncey Schmidt (Charleen); his siblings, Rodney Schmidt (Debbie), Nina Markin (Glenn) and Caronetta Claxton; and his grandchildren, Maverick Ray, Cassidy Ray, Chandler Schmidt and Charlotte Schmidt.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Nave Funeral Home (4639 W Main St, Erin, TN 37061). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at the Gray Barnes Cemetery.
