He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Katherine Burns and Edward Francis Coleman; his adoptive parents, Margaret "Peggy" Burns and Frank Patrick Burns Sr.; and his brother Frank Robert Burns (Allisa Burns).
He is survived by: his siblings, Dr. Frank Burns of Ten Mile, TN, Tammi (Eston Mayberry), Stefanie (Ryan Knight), Travis (Sarabeth Burns), Megan Kalmanek Clinard (Stephen Morgan), Mark Kalmanek (Ashley Mealy) and Patrick (Paige Burns).
