It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Jerry Debety of Tellico Plains, Tennessee, who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Debety and Gladith Debety; his grandson Corbin Debety; his sister Maflesue; his brother-in-law Clayton Yarberry; his parents-in-law, Rossie and Burkey Jenkins; his niece Selena Debety Wiggs; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Debety, Angie Stewart (Jerry), Barbara Jenkins, Minnie Jenkins, Pete Jenkins and William Bivens.
He is survived by: his wife June Debety; his children, Tim (Melissa Debety), Derrick Debety (Amy McDaniel) and Allison; his son-in-law Blake Hall; his grandchildren, Austin, Aubrey Hall, Gavin, Kendyl, Arryson Debety, Logan (Taylor Debety) and Jacob (Hannah Debety); his siblings, Ivan Debety, Cecil Debety, Buddy Debety (Dora) and Jeanette Debty (Harold); and his siblings-in-law, Rosie Jenkins, Lisa Jenkins, Ethel Bivens, Richard Jenkins and Leon Jenkins (Jan). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, family and special friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home (315 Scott St, Tellico Plains, TN 37385). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Miller's Chapel Cemetery.
