She was predeceased by: her father B. B. Shaw; and her brother Stevie B Shaw (Bubba). She is survived by: her husband Douglas Alan Valentine; her daughters, Sarah Beth Keener and Rebecca Anne Self; her sons-in-law, Anthony Keener and Jerry Self; her mother Annie Sue Shaw; and her grandchildren, Hayden, Zoey Self, Brooke, DeMario, Meya and Myles Keener.
