He was predeceased by: his former wife Linda Wilson Ellis; his parents, Lum Ellis and Bertha Ellis; and his brother Scott Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Ellis; his son Jerry Douglas Ellis; his grandsons, Tyler Ellis (Lydia) and Justin Ellis; and his sisters, Barbara (Johnny Graves), Ruth (Dale Tallent) and Gail (Jerry Moses). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
