He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Kirkland and Molly Buckner Kirkland. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hughes Kirkland; his daughters, Sandra Kirkland and Priscilla (John Getz); his grandchildren, Brittney, John, Jr. (Alli), Mary Beth, Paige, Emily, Carrie and Destin; and his siblings, Delsie, Junior and Ronald. He is also survived by Several nieces & nephews.
