He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Freeman and Geneva Bowers Freeman. He is survived by: his siblings, Velma Martin, Vergie (William Picklesimer), Carrie Stratton, Bernice (Larry Henson), Rachel Henson of Maynardville, TN, Arvil (Sue Freeman), Carl (Kitty Freeman), Kenneth Freeman of Chatsworth and Osborn Freeman of Tellico Plains, TN; and his nieces and nephews, Scott Henson and Melina Howard of Tellico Plains, TN. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
