She was predeceased by: her husband Jay B Chambers; her parents, Robert Payne and Edith Payne; and her brother Steven Payne. She is survived by: her daughter Ashley Davis Stinson (Doug Stinson); her grandchildren, Nolan Payne Stinson and Haley Rose Stinson; her sister Martha Payne Neff (Steve Neff); her niece Amanda Johnston (Jay Johnston); her great-niece Reese Johnston; and her friends, Pete, Rosalind Smith, Martha Yoakum, Rena Shockley and Renata Price.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of New Tazewell or the Kerbela Shriners of East Tennessee in her name; two organizations Melissa cared for deeply.
