He is survived by: his sons, Randy and Terry Massengill; his grandsons, Aaron Massengill and Braxton Fannon; his sons-in-law, Jeff Ford and Earl Daniels; his siblings, Lonnie, Frank Massengill, Bonnie Lanham, Marie Fultz and Nancy Fultz; his wife Geneva Massengill; his children, Jerry Massengill (Andrea), Robbie Massengill (Angie), Joann Ford, Rita Daniels and Lisa Daniels (Jessie); his siblings, Robert Massengill, Stanley Massengill and Rethie Price; and his close friends, Dr. Carroll Rose and Nathan "Tottie" Massengill. He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel (1106 TN-33, New Tazewell, TN 37825). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Bethel Cemetery (2690 Cave Springs Rd, Tazewell, TN 37879).
