He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Bolton and Pearlie Vannoy Bolton; his son Dan Bolton; and his siblings, Jewell Barnard (Lewis), Essie Marsee (Dewey), Mae Bray (Nelson), Opal Venable (Greely), Lois Epperson, Mollie Brooks (Estel), Marie Davis (John) and Everett Bolton (Gladys).

He is survived by: his wife Greta Bolton; his son Scott; his daughter-in-law Kim Bolton; his daughters, Vivian (Jackie Barnard) and Carla (Brett Cameron); his granddaughter Gretchen Greer (Barnard); and his great grandchildren, Hunter Greer, Jocelyn Essary, Jack Essary, Bo Barnard, Sawyer Tekesky, Knox Tekesky and Caitlin Greer. He is also survived by friends and family.
