He was predeceased by: his parents, James Swafford and Lestial Dooley Swafford. He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Malone Swafford; his brother Carlton D. Swafford; his son Jeff; his daughter-in-law Michelle Swafford; his daughter Patrice Swafford Welch; his grandchildren, Ashley Swafford, Julia Welch Riddle, Lauren Burress and Patrick Welch; and his close friend Charlie Roesser. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fielden Funeral Home (910 Churchview St, New Market, TN 37820). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Fielden Funeral Home, Inc. (910 Churchview St, New Market, TN 37820). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920).
