He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Watson and Ennis Watson; his stepfather R. O. Hicks; his brother Larry Watson; and his son Terry Watson.

He is survived by: his wife Mildred Evans Watson; his sons, Tracy Watson (Sherry) and Mark Watson (Rachel); his grandchildren, Sarah, Brandon, Josh, Amber, Hannah, Nate, Jayden and Jordan Watson; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte Watson and Eleanor Pham.
