He was predeceased by: his parents, Guston Bussell and Lorene Bussell; and his brothers, Ralph Edward Bussell and Joseph Bussell. He is survived by: his wife Rolena Bussell; his sons, Timothy Bussell (Tonya) and Daniel Bussell (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Alina Bussell, Alissa Bussell, Juliet "Bella" Bussell, Karalena Bussell, Katelyn Taylor, Emily Liedel and Mark Liedel; and his siblings, Henly Bussell (Gladys), Kenneth Buchanan (Wilma), Robert Bussell (Donna), Guston Paul Bussell Jr. (Gloria), Steven Blaine Bussell (Mary Knight), Dorothy Rudd (Edward) and Darlene Joyce Gregg (Randy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
