He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Haskell and Iva Mary Shell (Allen); his daughters, Cindie Shell Dotson and Sandra Shell Brown; his siblings, Herbert Shell and Barbara McNabb; and his son-in-law Danny Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Jean McDaniel Shell; and his grandchildren, Makhaila Brown and Blake Dotson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
