He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Dotson and Faye Dotson; his sisters, Wanda Cunningham and Jessie Helms; and his grandfather Bob.
He is survived by: his stepmother Patsy Dotson of Sweetwater; his sister Diane; his brother-in-law Howard Via of Barnsville, GA.; and his brothers, Ricky Dotson of Sweetwater and Jimmie (Connie Cunningham). He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
