It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rachel (Shafer) Adkins of Sweetwater, Tennessee, who passed away on July 4, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Okey Adkins; her daughters, Dorothea Hogg and Sherry Kavorkian; her parents, Clarence Shafer and Hazel Shafer; and her siblings, Howard, Bob, Don, Paul Shafer, Frieda, Esther and Mary Ellen Shafer.

She is survived by: her children, Laura Truman, Okey Adkins II (Anita) and Miles Adkins; and her brother Miles Shafer (Bonnie). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
