James Spurgeon Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 7, 2024, at the age of 63, James Spurgeon of Sweetwater, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Ellen Spurgeon Sr. (Holder); and his son James Spurgeon (Spanky). He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Spurgeon; his daughters, Julia Spurgeon and Amanda Akens (Dustin); his grandchildren, Isaiah Akens, Jacob Akens, Laura Willett, Emma Spurgeon, Blake Hutsell, Olivia Spurgeon and Karlie Mae; his father James Spurgeon Sr.; and his brothers, Eddie Spurgeon and Randy Spurgeon.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Companion Funeral & Cremation Services (400 S White St, Athens, TN 37303). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
