He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Guffee and Fred Guffee; his son Joe Aaron Guffee; his brother-in-law Bob Wells; and also Amy Hill Guffee.
He is survived by: his wife Laura Guffee of Knoxville; his daughter Leslie Sloan of Sweetwater; his son-in-law Jeffery Sloan of Sweetwater; and his siblings, Bettye Wells of Lenoir City and Robert "Bob" Guffee of Orlando, FL.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
