He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Bettis and Vola Pearl Smalling Bettis. He is survived by: his sister Patricia; his brother-in-law Allen Jett of Sequin, TX; his siblings, Eugene Bettis of Sweetwater, TN. and Brenda; his brother-in-law Pat McGinnis of Philadelphia, TN.; and his aunts, Mary Self and Bobbie Smalling. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
