It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew Lee Walker of Surgoinsville, Tennessee, who passed away on August 23, 2020, at the age of 40, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Roach, Helen Barton and Mary Sue Walker; and his father-in-law Earl Maiden. He is survived by: his son Landen Warren Maiden Walker; his wife Rachel Maiden Walker; his parents, Wayne Walker and Edna Walker; his siblings, Kirby Walker (Jennifer) and Candice McMillian (Steve); his parents-in-law, James and Linda Larkins; his nieces and nephews, Logan Smith, Fen McMillian, Reagan Smith, Kaylee McMillian and Emily Walker; his grandfather C. S. Walker; his great-aunt Sandy; and his cousins, Travis and Carolyn. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles, great aunts and great uncles, many cousins.
Anyone who knew Matt knew of his love for shelter animals, he would want any memorial donations to be made to the Hawkins County Humane Society.
