He is survived by: his wife Frances Morrow Shelton of Summertown, TN; his children, Cherry Klinghard (Marion) of Summertown, TN, Deborah Hodge (Bill) of Summertown, TN and Wade Shelton (LeAnn) of Hampshire, TN; his grandchildren, Alaina Essary (Jason), Alaric Klinghard (Katie), Cline Hodge (Abbye), A. J. Klinghard, Josie Willis (Klent), Kimberly McCord (Jake), Timothy Shelton, Thomas Shelton, Katie Beth Shelton, Kathryn Shelton and Tyler Shelton; and his siblings, Theo Shelton (Linda) of Lexington, AL, Faye Matich of Chicago, IL and Edith Coots. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
