He was predeceased by: his parents, Fleming McCandless and Nettie Minerva Holt Berry; his son Terry McCandless; his brothers, Jerry, Roy and James McCandless; and his brother-in-law William Dale.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rhonda McCandless of Summertown and Brenda Cowley (Clint) of Summertown; his siblings, Harry McCandless (Peggy) of Ethridge, Carnell McCandless (Sheila) of Lynnville, Bonnie Dale of Lewisburg, Margie Faye Estes (Eddie) of Columbia and Linda Howell (Bobby) of Spring Hill; and his niece Sheila Matthews. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.
