He is survived by: his wife Betty "Betsie" Barger-Hines; his children, Suzanne Berens (Anthony) and John Bery Hines, Jr. (Marianne); his grandchildren, Nicholas Berens (Lauren), Katherine Cecelia Hines and Margaret Anne Hines; and his great grandchildren, Mason and Andrew Berens.
