He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Cox of Strawberry Plains; his parents, Elmer Cox and Hazel Cox of Knoxville; his brothers, Jack, Ronnie, Joseph and Don; and his granddaughter Megan Russell.
He is survived by: his siblings, Alene Mills of Strawberry Plains, Mary Ruth Wilder of Rutledge, Olaf Flynn (Dotie) of Knoxville, Bess Russell (Clifford) of Oliver Springs and Huey Cox (Linda); his daughters, Debbie Russell of Oliver Springs and Melissa Cox Blaque of Knoxville; his stepsons, Daryl Norton (Beverly) of Knoxville, Joseph "Wendy" Norton (Danna) of Strawberry Plains and Steven Hensley; and his grandchildren, Stephani, Jennafer, Laura Gadd, Joshua Norton, Susie Christian, Ashley King and Amber Sorrells. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
