He is survived by: his wife Minnie June Grandstaff Bates; his children, Gary Bates (Jennifer), Pennie Cable and Karen Strange (Rod); his grandchildren, Taylor Anne Catlett (Tyler), Danny Bates (Abby), Jacob Pratt (Anna Katherine), Garrett Cable (Jess), Eric Wilhite (Jennie), Cimber Smith (Daniel) and Danica Douglass (Chris); his great grandchildren, Alyssa Miranda, Blake Miranda (Reagan), Brianne Miranda, Brooke Miranda (Trey Prater), Holden Pratt, Pierce Davis Pratt, Owen Pratt, Carson Cable, Silas Wilhite, Jack Wilhite, Charley Anne Wilhite, Lacey Douglass and Jasper Douglass; and his great great grandchildren, Kaylani, Kamari, Brelynn and Devin.
