Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Maura (Jim) Elgin Shell Jr. of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, who passed away at the age of 81, on September 23, 2023. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Bethel Shell, Sr.; his wife Carolyn Turley Shell; his children, James D. Shell (Ann), Darrell Turley (Karen), Jeri S. Hawkins (Keith) and Lynda S. Snider (Mike); his siblings, Kyle Shell of Jonesboro and Betty Tuell of Johnson City; and his grandchildren, Brian, Grant Hawkins, Travis, Taylor Franklin of Haley Shell, A. J., John Young, Kevin Snider, Kristen Smith, Dustin, Aimee, Elijah Turley and Jennifer Coleman. He was also cherished by 18 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gideon International Bible Foundation in memory of Mr. Shell.
