He was predeceased by: his mother Barbara Short; and his grandparents, Henry, Clara Hunley, Clay and Hannah Short.

He is survived by: his fiancée Cindy McMahan; his father Jack Short (Kathy Short); his children, Lashae Pflaumer, Summer, Faith, Chelsea and Kiersten Gregory; and his siblings, Melinda Brooks (Richard Brooks), Jeffery Short (Jenifer Short), Greg Short and Ashley Engle (Mike Engle). He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many special friends.
