He was predeceased by: his parents, Rex Downey and Helen Downey; and his father-in-law Charles Pistole. He is survived by: his wife Susan Downey; his children, David C. Downey and Scarlett Crowe (Tony); his grandson Jackson; his siblings, Don Downey (Robin) of Centerville, Maryland and Brenda Downey (Jerry) of Knoxville; and his mother-in-law Faye Pistole. He is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law; along with a very large extended family.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Charcot Marie Tooth Association for research.
