He was predeceased by: his parents, W. E. Cherry and Mae Bush Cherry; his former wife Lexie McGowan Cherry; his wife Agnes Cherry; his daughter Debbie Cherry Walters; his stepchildren, Sharon Baggett and Butch Martin; and his sons-in-law, Richard Rye, Vaughn Walters and Brian Westmoreland.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janice Smith (Jim), Phyllis Hasley and Pam Westmoreland. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
