He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Young and Geneva Wilson Young; his wife Marilyn Hancock Young; his son Tony Young; and his brother Wilson Young.
He is survived by: his daughter Jo Burrus (Tim) of Camden; his grandchildren, Blake Burrus (Rachel), Will Burrus (Meredith), Alyx Prather (Landon), J. R. (Brandi Cox), Zeb (Rose Leach), Chance (Gretchen), Little Jim (Taylor) and Woodrow Young (Hannah Gwaltney); his great grandchildren, Paislee Jane, Augustus Anthony, Hattie Jean, Dottie Gray, Ripp Ray and Annabelle Rose; and his daughter-in-law Pamela Young of Springville.
The family requests that memorials be made to Poplar Grove Methodist Church, 1495 Poplar Grove Rd., Springville, TN 38256.
