He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Norman Thompson and Arlene Francis Hammack Cooper; and his siblings, June Thompson Affolter, Donley Franklin Thompson and William Darrel Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Dougherty (Jamey) of Buchanan, TN, Susan Beltz (Ronnie) of Paris, TN and Steven Thompson (Lynn) of Springville, TN; his sister Jacque Beaver of Charleston, WV; and his grandchildren, Chelsea Dougherty, Collin Dougherty, Keri Dougherty, Starla Dougherty, Jeremy Thompson (Kelsy) and James Thompson (Bailey). He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
