He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm "Mac" and Opal Phillips Hovis; and his grandparents, Homer and Arvie D. Phillips. He is survived by: his children, Gary Malcom Hovis Jr. (Christina) of Paris, TN, Matthew Hovis of Paris, TN and Shannon Hovis of Hot Springs, AR; his grandchildren, Ashlynn Hovis, Andrew Hovis, Timothy Boyd, April Hovis, Kaelin D. Boyd, Nicholas Valle, Caroline Hovis, Riley Hovis and Maddie Hovis; his great grandchildren, Eloise Opal Rose Hovis and Anneilise Marie Hovis; and his siblings, Dean Hovis of Osceola, AR and Pam Hovis Cook of Osceola, AR. He is also survived by cousins and other relatives.
