He is survived by: his friend Bill W.; his wife Emily Larmore Payne; his son Lyle; his daughter-in-law Mary Frank Payne; his daughter Lisa Jones of Springfield; his sister-in-law Fannie Payne of Toccoa, GA; and his grandchildren, Allyson Payne Manfredi (Charles), Rachel Payne, Reese Payne and Harrison Long.
