He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Emily. He is survived by: his wife Laura Frost Oettel; his children, Jason Oettel (Joy) of Old Hickory, Brandon Oettel (Jessica) of Mt. Juliet and Abigail Oettel of Louisville, KY; his sisters, Brenda Smith (Rick) of Smith County, TN and Connie Trammel of Hartsville, TN; and his grandchildren, Baron Oettel, Benjamin Oettel, Evelyn Oettel, Vivian Oettel and Miriam Oettel.
