He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Tamble Leighton Sr. and Louise Leighton; his daughter Tina Louise Leighton; his brother William Leighton; and his grandson Jakob Alexander Leighton.
He is survived by: his wife Regina Groves Leighton; his sons, Elmer Tamble Leighton III (Laura) and Christopher Josh Leighton (Lynne); his son-in-law Carl Tim Leighton; his siblings, Kay True (Charles), Carol Highsmith (Bobby) and Josh Leighton (Nancy); and his grandchildren, Kevin, Shelby, Brooke, Nikki, Tamble IV, Christopher, Josh and Ashlyn. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
