He was predeceased by: his parents, James M. Jones and Lois Wilson Jones; his daughter Sheila Gail Jones; his brother Johnny Ray Jones, Sr; and his sons, Bobby Joe "Joey" Jones, Jr and James E. "Jamie" Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Wayne Martin (Susan) of Cedar Hill, Donna Pfeffer (Bill), Dianna Jones of Springfield and Angela Lemmons-Ortega of Cedar Hill; his siblings, J. W. Jones (Betty) of Springfield, Carl Jones of Springfield, Wayne Jones of Springfield, Lois D. Plesiewicz of Michigan, Judy Dowlen (Jim) of Joelton and Wanda Fay Jones of Springfield; and his grandchildren, Kandie Saldierna, Samantha McQuiston, Michael Lemmons and Jessica Cathey-Burnette. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
