He was predeceased by: his parents, Hollis Smith and Ruby Anderson Smith; his wife Mary Alice Drake Smith; his sister Betty Sue Murphy; and his niece Susanne Murphy.
He is survived by: his sons, Billy Scott Smith of Maryville, Chad Drake and Brooke Smith of Knoxville; his grandchildren, Oakley Sloan Smith, Paxton Bryant Smith, Elizabeth Grace Smith, Emma Kate Smith and Ella Ruby Smith; and his daughter-in-law Janice Chausse (Billy) of Franklin.
