He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Neil Butler and Mattie Louise Edwards Butler; his brother Jimmy; his sister-in-law Ethel Butler; his sister Betty Ann; his brother-in-law Bud Hurt; and his brother Jack Butler.
He is survived by: his wife Emily Dodd Butler of Columbia; his children, Brenda Blue (Cary) of Columbia, Linda McMillin (Bill) of Culleoka and Mike Butler (Sonya) of Columbia; his sister Martha Lee (James) of Columbia; his sister-in-law Wanda Butler of Columbia; his grandchildren, Billy McMillin (Tiffany) of Columbia, Bobby McMillin (Heather) of Columbia, Bryan McMillin of Culleoka, Lillie Butler of Columbia and Mattie Butler of Columbia; and his great grandchildren, Laika McMillin of Lewisburg, Ava McMillin of Columbia and Alyssa Potts of Columbia.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Neapolis United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 146, Spring Hill, Tennessee, 37174.
