He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorion Wheeley and Gerta Wheeley; his wives, Mary Ann Tomlin Wheeley and Christine; his son William Harold "Billy" Wheeley; his grandson T. J. Isenhour; and his brothers, Merl, Dennis, James A. and Buren Wheeley.
He is survived by: his daughters, Anita Isenhour, Teresa Locke, Pam Cloyd and Janet Watkins (Ricky); his stepchildren, Ronald Tomlin (Joan) and Rhonda Gatlin (Glenn); and his sister Katherine Roberts. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
