He was predeceased by: his wife Josephine Melendez; and his parents, Francisca and Ignacio. He is survived by: his children, Irma Eichner (Matt) and Alex Melendez (Catherine); and his granddaughters, Christine Magowan (Bart), Margaret Bedont (Jack) and Emily Melendez (Grayson). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
