He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Uriah Chesnut and Annie Hardison Chesnut; his siblings, Doug Chesnut, Glenn Derryberry, Jean Horne and Ervie Carpenter; his grandson-in-law Luke Tipton; his nephew Bobby Carpenter; his niece Mary Jean Ivens; and his friends, Ivo and Alta Hardison.
He is survived by: his spouse Lennis Lovett Chesnut; his children, Valerie Bernhart (John) of Spring Hill, Kimberly Hanes (Britt) of Columbia and Randall Dean Chesnut (Ginger) of Spring Hill; his sisters, JoAnn Anderson (Larry) of Spring Hill and Mary Lou White of Columbia; his grandchildren, Matthew Dean Chesnut (Erin), Sarah Bernhart Tipton, Daniel Bernhart (Angel) and Reagan Hanes; and his great grandchildren, Hailey Elizabeth Chesnut and Noah Dean Chesnut. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
