She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Gilliam and Delsie Ervin Gilliam; and her children, Janice Marie Whidby, Melvin Eugene Beard, Dennis Johnson and Tim Johnson.

She is survived by: her husband Miles B. Johnson of Spring Hill; her son Calvin Beard (Vanessa) of Florida; and her siblings, Barbara Coleman, Evelyn Andrews and Cecil Gilliam. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
