He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Roy and Myrtle Rector Sr. Roy; and his brothers, Guy Rector Jr. and Tommy Rector. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Smith Rector; his children, Ed Brady, David, Tiffany Houston, Johnnie and Donald Shoemake; his grandchildren, Ben, Evan Brady, Caleb, Connor Houston, Johnathan Shoemake and Kayla Holder; his sister Ann Rector Fine; and his pet Spot. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
