She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Evander and Daisy Thurman; her husband Preston Lemons; her daughter Peggy Lemons Suttles; her granddaughter Shelley Altum; and her siblings, William Eugene Collier, Gordon Thurman, Elmer Thurman, Ralph Thurman, Ella Woods, Dorothy Bostic and Emaline Brown.
She is survived by: her son Richard Lemons (Sheila); and her grandchildren, Heath Suttles (Sabrina), Paul Altum (Amy), David Lemons (Samantha) and Tracy Day (Shane). She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter.
