He was predeceased by: his parents, John Higdon and Dorthy Young Higdon; his wife Judith M. Shelby Higdon; his grandson C. J. Lambert; and his brothers, John, Arlie and George Higdon.
He is survived by: his children, James Pelfrey (Deana) of North Carolina, Jamie Higdon of Spring City, Jerry "J. D." Higdon (Karen) of North Carolina and Jeff Higdon (Melanie) of North Carolina, Several; and his brother Danny Higdon of North Carolina. He is also survived by Several grandchildren & great grandchildren.
