With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Oggs of Spring City, Tennessee, born in Sweetwater, Tennessee, who passed away on November 7, 2022 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Thelma Olivia Oggs; his wife Shirley A. Oggs; his son Joseph V. Oggs; and his siblings, Catherine Hague, Otis Anthony Scruggs and William Tony Scruggs.
He is survived by: his sons, Vashon Oggs (Stacey) of Nashville, TN and Jason Oggs (Nicole) of Nashville, TN; his grandsons, Kannon Oggs of Dayton, TN, Xavier Oggs, Braxton Oggs, Jayden Oggs of Nashville, TN and Priest Oggs of Loudon, TN; his sisters, Mary Scruggs of Toledo, OH and Yvonne Jones of Sweetwater, TN; his mother-in-law Corine Lenoir of Sweetwater, TN; his brothers-in-law, Booker T. Gillespie (Carolyn) and Alvas Gillespie; and his close friend Betty Wilkerson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
