He was predeceased by: his wife Janice L. Simpson; his parents, Wallace Simpson and Nellie Mae Simpson; and his siblings, Dean, Leroy, Jimmy Simpson, Leone Farmer and Ora Nelle Elkins.
He is survived by: his children, Jarrod Simpson (Ashley) of Spring City, Melissa Kaylor (John Williford) of Spring City and Troy "Grumpy" Reed (Julie) of Fernandina Beach, Florida; and his siblings, Jerry Simpson of Spring City, Tennessee and Carole Sue Brown of Spring City. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
