He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollin Mason and Isabella Franz Mason. He is survived by: his son Chris Mason of Burlington, Wisconsin; his siblings, Jim Mason of Valparaiso, Indiana and Diane Roll of Westmoreland, Tennessee; and his granddaughters, Fallon Mason of Denver, Matti Mason of Braidwood, Maya of Burlington and Izzy Zingsheim of Burlington.
