He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Tye and Jessie Tye; and his siblings, Charlie (late Janice), Bob, Freddie, Larry Tye, Bev Griffin (late Woodrow), Maxine Robinson (late Denver), Faye Tindle (late Jim) and Brenda Ellison (late Don).
He is survived by: his wife Terri Hopper Tye; his daughter Jessica Tye Cooke (Matthew); his grandchildren, Nathanael, Audrey, Madison, Ava, Isaac and Marley Cooke of Maynardville Tennessee; and his siblings, Barbara Sue (Johnny Brown) of Williamsburg, Patricia Nell Bennett of Williamsburg, Gayle (Joe Wilder) of Williamsburg and Debbie Tye of Williamsburg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the New Salem Baptist Church (395 White Oak Rd, Speedwell, TN 37870). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
Rev. Gary Otis Tye - age 75 of Speedwell, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 24th at Oak Ridge Medical Center at 2:30am after a difficult battle with Alzheimer's Disease and cancer.
