With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vernell E. Nash of Sparta, Tennessee, born in Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away on December 22, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Vernell farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Vernell is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her son Robert Nash; the father of her children Jesse Clay Nash; and her brothers, Jesse Clay Simmons and Virgle Lee Simmons. She is survived by: her children, Kathy Anderson (Lester) of Sparta, TN, Karen Scaff (Joe) of Callahan, FL and Jesse Nash Jr. (Karen) of Sparta, TN; and her grandchildren, Joey Scaff (Tonya) of Callahan, FL, Kari Kidd of California, Chris Nash of Sparta, TN and Jessica Nash Dietz of Sparta, TN. She is also survived by 7 Great Grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery (1786 Smithville Hwy, Sparta, TN 38583).
